Make yourself at home

No build tools needed.
Extract the ZIP into a permanent folder. Keep the extracted ai-translator folder in place while using the extension.
Open chrome://extensions in the address bar. Turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and choose the ai-translator folder containing manifest.json.
Create an API key at DeepSeek. Open the extension’s Settings, paste your key, and Save. DeepSeek API usage is billed separately by DeepSeek.
Refresh your open webpages. Select a passage, click the AI button beside it, and read the translation. Choose your target language in the toolbar popup.
Installing on another computer? Enter your key once on each device. It stays saved through browser and computer restarts.
Privacy, in plain language
Nothing is sent just because you select text. Translation starts with your click.
No translation history. No analytics.When you click Translate, the extension sends your selection to DeepSeek with your key for authentication. This website does not handle translation requests. DeepSeek’s own data policies apply to what it receives.
Your key and preferences are stored in your Chrome profile, without Google sync. Webpages cannot read the stored key. You can remove it in Settings; uninstalling also removes the extension’s saved data.
Page language, title, and site origin are available to custom prompts. Page paths, query strings, and fragments are excluded. No translation history is saved, and the extension adds no analytics or tracking SDKs.
The extension runs on normal HTTP and HTTPS pages to detect selections and display the translation button. It cannot translate browser settings, the Chrome Web Store, or other restricted pages. It does not read your browsing history or cookies.
Settings can also use supported HTTPS localhost endpoints for development; requests then go to that configured endpoint. Stored keys are protected from webpage scripts, but local storage is not an encrypted secrets vault against someone with access to your device.
This website’s demo uses prepared translations. It does not collect API keys, set analytics cookies, or send demo text to a translation service. Our hosting provider may process routine request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site.
